Seeing our identity, purpose and function
Flamborough Christian Fellowship is to be a people whose passionate pursuit is the presence of God, whose purpose is to do only what we see the Father doing in the power of the Holy Spirit, and whose function is to evangelize, edify, equip and send an emerging people.
Where are we heading in WORSHIP?
Because God is seeking worshipers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23,24), we are devoted to a daily life style of passionately loving God our Father (Mat 22:27) with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, in obedience to the truth revealed in Jesus Christ (John 14:6), totally immersed, continually filled and completely in submission to the person of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:5; Acts 4:31; Rom 8:13; Gal 5:25]
Where are we headed in PRAYER?
Because God answers prayer (John 15:7) and Jesus said that God’s house is a house of prayer for all the nations (Mark 11:17), we are committed to seek His face first and pray for the entrance of His Kingdom and the fulfillment of His will on earth as it is in heaven. (Luke 11:2)
Where are we headed in GIVING?
Because Jesus said, “freely you have received, freely give” (Mat. 10:8), and because God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7), we are committed to joyfully giving our lives to God and sacrificially giving our tithes and offerings (Mal 3:8) as a means to fulfil the Great Commission.
Where are we headed in becoming a CARING community?
Jesus was full of compassion (Mat. 9:36) and we are resolved to make every effort to promote a loving, accepting and nurturing community where the broken-hearted can be healed and where people can discover and claim their full potential in Christ. (Luke 4:18)
Where are we headed in DISCIPLESHIP?
Because Jesus said, “You go into all the world and make disciples of every nation” (Mat. 28: 18-20); we are determined to go and publicize the good news of Jesus Christ and to gather to Him people who will make a radical commitment to seek His presence, obey His Word and invest their lives in furthering His Kingdom.
Where are we headed in Practical Christian SERVICE?
Because Jesus Himself did not come to be served but to serve (Mat. 20:28) as His disciples we are called to service. We are committed to identify specific needs (both spiritual and practical) in our local church and community, to act on those needs as the Holy Spirit leads us, and to become faithful stewards of God’s gifts. (1 John 3:18)
